Payable Traffic Citations

Minor traffic violations — such as speeding, reckless driving, failure to stop, and equipment violations — are ones that let you pay a ticket instead of going to court. However, paying a ticket means pleading guilty. For each violation, you receive traffic violation points on your traffic record that can add up to serious consequences. With enough points, you may even lose your license.

You have 15 days to pay your ticket. Contact us now. We will discuss the three options you have:

  • Plead guilty to the traffic violation and pay a fine.
  • Appear for trial. A trial is scheduled automatically if you do not pay your fine. You may also go to trial if you believe you did not commit the offense. If you do not appear at your trial, your license will be suspended.
  • Plead guilty with an explanation. Here, you can argue that you have an explanation for committing the traffic violation. If the court agrees with you, you may be able to reduce or waive your fine or receive probation instead of a conviction. If the court disagrees with you, however, it may increase your fine by up to $500.
